The six young Barbadians who competed in WorldSkills Kazan 2019 in Russia have been hailed as pioneers by Parliamentary Secretary in the Ministry of Education, Technological and Vocational Training, Dr. Romel Springer.
Samuel Jackman Prescod Institute of Technology (SJPI) student Hollyann Lampkin made history at the WorldSkills Barbados (WSB) 2023 Competition by becoming the first female to win the male-dominated Car Painting skills competition.
The Barbados team to WorldSkills Kazan 2019 this week stepped up preparation for the technical and vocational skills competition, when three of its members began training with Brazil s medal winning Skill Experts in Cooking, Restaurant Service and Hairdressing.
Barbados will be sending a six-member team of some of its finest young, skilled professionals to compete at the 45th biennial WorldSkills Competition which will be held in Kazan, Russia August 22-27, 2019.
